BISS-09
Posted in The Showring on August 5, 2009 by annamogianosHere comes the update, a little late I know but still some nice dogs on the pictures…and some nice results…
This year the annual Swedish rhodesian ridgeback speciality show was held at Tjolöholm castle outside Fjärås. This is a beautiful place and perfect for the event with its nice green lawns.
Dogs and puppies were judged the first day. Judge was Mr Torbjörn Skaar, Sweden.
First up in puppyclass bitches 6-9 months was Corleo’s Calamity Jane “Callas”. This was the first time she was shown at an official show. She did great and got a VG.

Camilla and Callas
Next were the two brothers from Westway’s kennel, competing from intermediate class. Both boys performed beautifully. Both got a VG (1st in quality). Sixten has been shown once at an unofficial show, with BIG-4 placement. Both Åsa and Sixten are beginners but certainly learning fast…

Next up, the “big guys” in championclass. Both Aslan and Guiness entered and performed well with Exc. Stiff competition, Aslan unplaced but Guiness managed a third placement and was also third best male in total. Well done Magdalena and Guiness.

Exc-3 in championclass.
Next day and time for the bitches. 3 Aslan daughters in intermediate class. Sisters SvCh Corleo’s Carob Bean “Zelda” and Corleo’s Carioca Bean “Embla” got VG (1st in quality) and Westway’s Devotion By Chicory “Chillie” got Exc-5.

Zelda caught in action…outside the ring. No stacked pics since I was showing Embla at the same time

“Embla” caught by the camera, the day before…
Last but certainly not least. “Chillie” Exc-5 in a huge intermediate class

Chillie and Karin
Time for bitches open class… with sisters Ancisero’s Puma by Aslan “Puma” and Ancisero’s Akilah by Aslan “Akilah”. These two ladies are shown occasionally.
Akilah got a VG 1st in quality and Puma got 2nd in quality.

Thank You everybody for taking such good care of your loving dogs and showing them at their best. See you soon.
Chisum
Posted in Everyday Dog Life on July 22, 2009 by annamogianosWe got some pictures of our Russian export Corleo’s Chisum.
I have had my eyes on Chisum right from the start. He reminded me sooo much of Aslan when he was a puppy. When I visited the puppies Chisum was the one that always tried to crawl up in my lap to cuddle and get all the attention.
Here he is…

Embla the tracker
Posted in Everyday Dog Life on July 15, 2009 by annamogianosYesterday I and Embla had our debut together in the track. I have trained her but so far it is only Fredrik that has competed with her. Fredrik is much more experienced in training and tracking with the dogs and is always very relaxed and self confident when he and the dogs are working. He never gets disturbed by small things and he always lets the dog do its thing – tracking, without disturbing or interrupting.
BUT yesterday it was my turn to hold the leash. We had a great track and I felt confident and calm and Embla did all the work by herself. She really is extremely thorough but was a little disturbed by a nearby walking path, but she fixed everything and worked in a perfect pace. She got 37points out of 42 and a 1st prize. That means she is close to complete her Swedish tracking title. She just needs one more 1st prize… Stay tuned…

SUCH Ancisero’s Guiness By Aslan
Posted in The Showring on July 13, 2009 by annamogianosThis weekend Guiness trotted all the way to the best dog placement, with CAC and CACIB. This made him SWEDISH CONFORMATION CHAMPION!!! Later he was placed BOS and BOB was Tarujen Uyaya Kadamo. Judge Mr Åke Cronander, Sweden. I am soooo happy and proud of both Guiness and Magdalena. You have really earned your title. You are simply the best!!!
Guiness is Aslan’s 3rd champion offspring.

Guiness
The fieldtracker himself
Posted in Everyday Dog Life on July 9, 2009 by annamogianosToday we were in the woods of Attarp, Sweden. I made my debute in the leash after super tracker Aslan. Aslan did everything right today. The judge Karl Axel Larsson was very impressed by Aslan’s talent and skill. He awarded us a first prize with topscore 42p and on top of that honours prize!!
I am so proud.
photos soon…
